Treatment Details

BBL BARE uses Sciton's BBL HERO technology — the same platform used for our BBL photofacials — reconfigured with specific wavelengths and handpiece settings designed for hair reduction. How it works: The device emits controlled pulses of light absorbed by melanin (pigment) in the hair shaft and follicle. This energy converts to heat, disabling the follicle and preventing regrowth — a process called selective photothermolysis. Hair grows in cycles, so multiple sessions are needed to target follicles in their active growth phase. Treatment Areas: Face (upper lip, chin, sideburns), underarms, arms, bikini / Brazilian, legs, back, chest, and stomach. What to expect: A series of 6–8 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart is typical for most body areas. Facial hair often requires more sessions. After completing your initial series, occasional maintenance treatments may be recommended for long-lasting results. Comfort: The sapphire cooling tip in the BBL HERO handpiece keeps the skin cool throughout, making BBL BARE one of the more comfortable laser hair removal options available. How many treatments will I need?

Most patients need 6–8 treatments for significant permanent reduction. Hair grows in cycles, so each session targets follicles in their active growth phase. Sessions are spaced 4–6 weeks apart for body areas and 3–4 weeks for facial hair.

Does BBL BARE work on all hair and skin types?

BBL BARE works best on darker hair against lighter skin — it targets melanin in the follicle. It is less effective on blonde, red, white, or very fine hair. During your consultation Andrea will assess your hair and skin to determine if BBL BARE is the right fit and set realistic expectations.

Is the treatment painful?

Most patients describe BBL BARE as a warm snap or rubber-band flick. The sapphire cooling tip in the BBL HERO handpiece continuously cools the skin, making it significantly more comfortable than older laser hair removal technologies.

How should I prepare for a session?

Shave the treatment area 24 hours before your appointment. Do not wax, thread, or pluck — the follicle needs to be intact. Avoid sun exposure, self-tanner, and retinoids on the treatment area for at least 2 weeks prior.

What is the downtime?

Minimal. You may notice some redness or mild swelling in the treatment area for a few hours after the session. Hair will shed over the following 1–3 weeks as the disabled follicles push it out — this is normal and a sign the treatment worked.
