Durango is altitude, sun, dry air, and a lot of outdoor clothing that rubs. Shaving every few days on legs, underarms, or the bikini line gets old. Waxing between ski days is worse. A purple razor rash under a backpack strap is not a treatment plan.

What BBL BARE is
BBL BARE is Sciton's hair-reduction treatment on the BBL HERO platform. Sciton also names this approach Forever Bare BBL®. We use that name once here so searchers who know the product family can match it. On this site and in the rooms, we call the visit BBL BARE.
The device sends controlled pulses of broadband light. Melanin in the hair shaft and follicle absorbs that energy, heat disables the follicle, and surrounding skin is spared as much as the physics allow. That process is selective photothermolysis. It is not a shave, and it is not a wax that rips the root and leaves you starting over in three weeks.
The same BBL HERO platform also powers our BBL HERO photofacial for sun spots and redness. That is a different treatment with different filters and a different job. Do not book a hair-removal series if what you actually want is pigment cleared.
Laser hair removal, IPL, and BBL, without the sales fog
Search treats almost every light-based hair appointment as “laser hair removal.” Some devices are true lasers. BBL is intense, medical-grade broadband light. A consumer IPL wand at home is not the same class of tool, even when the brochure uses similar words.
We will not pretend BBL BARE is a diode laser, and we will not pretend a spa IPL is Sciton BBL HERO. BBL BARE vs diode and Alexandrite lasers (Soprano, Splendor X)
Most “laser hair removal” search results are written by rooms that own a true laser: diode platforms like Soprano, or Alexandrite devices like Splendor X. We own none of those. We own Sciton's BBL HERO and BBL BARE. Saying that up front is the only way this comparison is worth your time.
The difference is the physics. A diode or Alexandrite laser sends a single concentrated wavelength at the follicle. BBL BARE sends intense broadband light across a range of wavelengths, in motion, with the handpiece sliding and the sapphire tip cooling. That in-motion approach keeps each pulse gentler than a stacked single-wavelength hit, which is why many people describe BBL BARE sessions as more comfortable than the older stamp-and-zap sessions they have read about.
Where single-wavelength lasers can hold an edge is on very coarse, deeply rooted hair in a good candidate, where a concentrated hit per follicle can be efficient. Who BBL BARE is for
This is a good match if you have visible, darker hair and want fewer razor days on legs, underarms, bikini line, or face. It is also a fit if waxing between river season and ski season has become a chore, or if ingrown hairs and razor burn are the real complaint.

What to expect
A typical series
Most people need 6 to 8 sessions for a real drop in hair. Body visits are usually 4 to 6 weeks apart. Face is usually 3 to 4 weeks apart because facial cycles run faster. Larger maps such as legs or back can still be treated in one appointment. Smaller maps finish quicker.
In the room
You shave first. Andrea checks skin and hair, sets the BBL HERO for that area, and works in passes. Most people feel a warm snap, like a rubber band, while the sapphire tip cools. Eye protection goes on for facial work. You leave with aftercare, not a recovery weekend.
After the pulse
Redness or mild swelling can last a few hours. Over the next 1 to 3 weeks, treated hair often sheds. Do not panic-pluck it. Let it fall. That is the follicle finishing the job, not a failure.
Prep and aftercare
Prep is not optional if you want the energy to hit a real follicle.
- Shave the area about 24 hours before you arrive.
- Do not wax, thread, or pluck. The follicle has to be there.
- Avoid sun, self-tanner, and retinoids on the treatment area for at least two weeks before a session.
Aftercare is quiet skin and modest sun sense. Skip extra heat the day of treatment if you flush easily. Use SPF on treated skin that sees daylight. High-altitude UV is unforgiving on freshly treated areas. Andrea will give written instructions for your map.
