Why fall and winter
Fresh skin needs shade. Laser season gives it that.
Durango sits over a mile high, and our UV does not take winter off. Laser resurfacing leaves new skin that must be protected from strong sun while it heals, which is why the shorter days of fall and winter are the easiest season to schedule it. Shorter recovery windows for lighter peels, longer ones for deep resurfacing: pick the rung that matches your skin and your calendar.

Contour TRL Nano Laser Peel

A light, full-field Er:YAG refresh that lifts the outermost dull layer. A cheaper one-off, not corrective: it freshens the surface but does not reach deeper texture, lines, or pigment.
Downtime: About 1 to 3 days of pinkness and light flaking

Halo Hybrid Fractional Laser
From $1,500
Hybrid fractional laser: a 2940 nm ablative wavelength and a 1470 nm non-ablative wavelength in one pass. Treated columns heal fast because untouched skin sits between them. Performed by Dr. Brian Rike, DO.
Downtime: Often 1 to 3 days of bronzing and peeling, sometimes longer depending on settings

Halo + BBL HERO (face)

Our Halo Stacked Package: Halo and BBL HERO on the face in the same visit, so texture and color are treated together. Neck and chest can be added for +$1,000 ($3,200 total).

Deeper resurfacing
Contour TRL Micro / Deep
$750 / $3,000 to $3,500
Micro Laser Peel at roughly 50 microns ($750) for blotchy tone and felt texture. Deep Contour TRL ($3,000 to $3,500) for heavy wrinkles, deeper lines, and severe sun damage. Full-field Er:YAG at a depth Dr. Rike sets.
Downtime: Micro: about 3 to 5 days. Deep: about 7 to 10 days of real healing
Optional add-on: Clear V
For redness and small visible vessels, Clear V can be added to a resurfacing plan. It is priced at consultation, because vessel work depends on what we see in your skin that day.
Comfort is part of the plan
Before treatment, we apply numbing cream to keep the sensation manageable. For deeper treatments, your provider may approve Journavx, a newer non-narcotic pain medication, taken about 2 hours before your appointment so it is working when the treatment begins. Many patients describe the experience as warmth with occasional prickling, and we also offer Nitronox (laughing gas) for added comfort.
Your comfort plan is chosen with your provider at consultation. Every person tolerates treatment differently, and we plan for the version of you that shows up that day, not an average patient.

How much downtime should I actually plan for?
It depends on the rung you choose. Nano Laser Peel: about 1 to 3 days of pinkness and light flaking. Halo: often 1 to 3 days of bronzing and peeling, sometimes longer with more aggressive settings. Halo + BBL HERO Stacked: about 5 to 7 social days. Micro Laser Peel: about 3 to 5 days. Deep Contour TRL: about 7 to 10 days of real healing. These are planning ranges, not promises — your settings, your skin, and your healing move the number.

Often one well-chosen treatment is the honest answer. A single Halo or Halo + BBL HERO stack treats a lot in one visit, and a Deep Contour TRL treatment is a one-time event for the skin that needs it. Lighter rungs like the $250 Nano peel are designed to repeat: a short series spaced several weeks apart is a common plan. Dr. Rike will recommend a session count based on your skin, not a package quota.
What about sun and tanning in Durango?
We sit at over 6,500 feet and our UV is strong even on cold, bluebird days. You should come to your appointment without a recent tan, and tanning beds should be off the table entirely. After any laser treatment, freshly resurfaced skin must be protected: daily SPF, wide-brimmed hats, and shade on trails and slopes. Fall and winter are the easiest seasons to schedule deeper treatments for exactly this reason.
Who treats me?
Dr. Brian Rike, DO performs Halo, the Halo + BBL HERO Stacked Package, and Contour TRL at every depth, including the Nano and Micro peels. BBL HERO is performed by Dr. Rike as part of the stack, and Andrea Rike performs maintenance Forever Young BBL and Clear Silk. Every depth decision is made by the physician who holds the handpiece.

Can treatments be stacked or combined?
Yes, deliberately. The $2,200 Stacked Package combines Halo and BBL HERO on the face in one visit. Clear V can be added to treat redness and small vessels, priced at consult. Neck and chest add +$1,000 to the stack. What we avoid is stacking for stacking's sake: if one treatment answers your goal, we will say so.
When should I book to be healed before the holidays?
Work backward from your calendar. A Nano peel needs only a few days. Halo needs roughly a week before you are fully social. The Stacked Package asks for 5 to 7 social days. Deep Contour TRL asks for 7 to 10 days of healing plus aftercare visits. Add consultation scheduling on top of that, and booking in early fall gives you the widest choice of appointment times and the most recovery runway.
